At JLS Tennis Academy, we are incredibly proud of the dedication and achievements of our young athletes. This past week has been filled with outstanding performances and well-deserved recognition, as our players continue to excel on the courts and represent the academy with pride. Let’s take a moment to highlight their accomplishments:
Gabbi Coetzee: AJTC Tournament Champion
Gabbi Coetzee, part of the TSA team, dominated the AJTC tournament, winning all of her matches to secure the championship title. In addition to this remarkable performance, Gabbi earned an invitation to the prestigious TSA Junior Masters event for the Under-12 Girls category, where she finished as runner-up. Her consistent excellence has made her a standout talent, and we are excited to see her continue to grow.
Ciaran McConnol: Under-19 Girls Division Winner
Ciaran McConnol has made waves in the Under-19 Girls division at the Gauteng North Championships, emerging victorious in her category. Her hard work has paid off, and she has now been invited to the TSA Junior Masters Under-16 Girls event, an honor that underscores her potential and commitment to the sport.
Ethan Dodd: Under-19 Gauteng North Champion
Ethan Dodd’s journey in the Under-19 Gauteng North Championships culminated in a well-earned victory. Ethan’s consistent performance and skill on the court have set a high standard, and we are thrilled to see his continued success.
Morgan Jordaan: A Fighter in the Face of Adversity
Morgan Jordaan has also earned an invitation to the TSA Junior Masters Under-16 Girls event. Morgan’s resilience was on full display as she made it to the finals of the Junior Masters, going up 3-1 in the first set. Unfortunately, an injury forced her to withdraw at 5-5 after a valiant effort. Morgan will be visiting a chiropractor for assessment and alignment and has had to withdraw from her upcoming tournament in Botswana. We wish Morgan a speedy recovery and hope to see her competing again soon!
Exciting Upcoming Matches
Looking ahead, we are excited to see Nolo and Phemelo compete in the Under-13 Gauteng North Championships this coming week. We know they will give their best and represent JLS Tennis Academy with determination.
Under-15 Performers
We are also incredibly proud of Aiden McConnol, Dezi Hoek, Beyers Pretorius, and Joshua van Deventer, who participated in the Gauteng North Championships Under-15 division this past week. Their outstanding performance and dedication to the sport have not gone unnoticed, and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow as players.
Special Congratulations to Gabbi Coetzee and Morgan Jordaan
A special mention to Gabbi Coetzee, who was the runner-up at the TSA Junior Masters for Girls Under-12! Gabbi’s exceptional drive and hard work have certainly paid off, and we are thrilled by her achievements. Additionally, despite her injury, Morgan Jordaan displayed remarkable resilience and was a finalist in the Masters. We are proud of her fighting spirit and look forward to her return to the court stronger than ever.
